Being part of the Pinellas Heat Volleyball Club will help your daughter in developing essential social skills. There are many essential values that your daughter will learn from our programs such as the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, respect for authority and rules, maintaining a positive attitude and how to win with class and lose with dignity. Our club focuses on the importance of sharpening the 4C’s: Confidence, Control, Concentration, and Commitment. These skills can be applied on the playing field and beyond. The skill of confidence teaches girls the ability to believe in themselves at all times. Developing the skill of control gives girls the ability to resist distractions. Learning how to concentrate will give your daughter the ability to maintain focus in situations full of distraction. The most important skill that can be taught is commitment; the ability to continue working towards one’s goals despite challenges and obstacles. Teamwork is not just an integral part of volleyball it is the key to success in social situations as well. Kids will engage in many other activities throughout their day that will require group participation.  In school they work on class projects in pairs, on the playground and in the lunchroom, kids participate in conversations and activities. For a team to effectively work together all team members must respect each other’s abilities, contributions, perspectives, and opinions. Learning to value the strengths and opportunities in others as well as themselves is a valuable life experience. Being involved in an athletic experiences isn’t just about winning or losing; it’s about having a positive attitude. Competitions on and off the court are opportunities for your daughter to learn from their successes and failures that will build character that they can apply to other areas of their life. Even players on a losing team will demonstrate their individual skills when playing and learn team participation. Valuable life skills such as having a positive outlook towards a situation win or lose is an important skill that can be taught from playing at Pinellas Heat Elite Volleyball Club. The characteristics of having a good positive attitude is something that we will want our children to develop and carry with them the rest of their lives. It is a skill that is much harder to learn later on in life if not taught in the elementary developing years. Having a good attitude is often referred to as the key to success and something we look for in people that we choose to be friends with or hire to work with us in our jobs. Part of being an athlete is learning how to persist through difficult tasks. Playing sports helps kids learn techniques to deal with pressure in a positive channel that will enable them to achieve success in other venues. Learning how to relax, focus, and maintain confidence, is a skill that can be used to achieving success in other pressurized situations like exams and social situations.
